Learning table manners

Table manners. Noun. Behavior that is conventionally required while eating at table. Not an easy task for a (almost) 3 years old. Let’s start with one of our favorite snacks, a quiche, a pastry of French origin. There are millions of variations of quiche, and we prepare this one quite frequently together. Ema cutting the leak ( let’s call it what it is : massacring it with knife ), but also moving it expertly on the dough, distributing the tomatoes ( unevenly )…

It’s super simple. You can prepare your own dough too if you want to –  like I used to before I had a kid and didn’t know what to do with my free time 🙂

You’ll need:
– dough with a diameter fitting a 28cm tray
– leek
– Feta cheese ( approx. 200 gr )
– tomatoes
– 4 eggs
– cream
– any other type of cheese to sprinkle on the quiche before baking it

Step 1: Lay the dough, distribute leek and tomatoes.

Step 2:Mix Feta,eggs and cream, pour it on the dough, sprinkle with cheese.

Step3: Bake for approximately 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

Now, back to the table. We are trying to improve the way we eat. No TV, no mobile phone, less feeding, more independent eating with a pleasant conversation, no running away after 3 minutes. Not an easy task, as I mentioned. We rather did not take a picture after we finished eating!
